2-1-1 Directory

Washington State has an online 2-1-1 Directory, with thousands of listings for
nearly every type of need.

Here is a handy guide on how to access what you are looking for.

You can call 2-1-1 to speak to a person who will help locate the resources you need.  The telephone number for Snohomish, Whatcom, and Skagit counties is 1-800-223-8145.
You can also access the 2-1-1 statewide database at their website:  www.win211.org.  If you need instructions, they are below.

Open a new window and go to the 2-1-1 website at www.win211.org

From the first screen, use the pull down menu to find your county, then click on the SET button.
Now, scan the various links to resources.

If the resource you are looking for is listed on this front section, it will be even easier!  Just look for what you need, and click on the words.  In the case of this example, I'm clicking on UTILITY ASSISTANCE.

The next screen will look like this, for Utility Assistance resources in Snohomish County.  There are 31 listed.  Many are for very specific groups, such as veterans.  Others do not actually provide payment assistance, so you will want to scan carefully.

If you want, you can just jot down the contact information and take it with you.  But if you plan to look for a lot of resources in different areas, you probably will want to use the SAVE SEARCHES option.  Here is how that works:

When you find a listing you want, click inside the SAVE box, and continue browsing and clicking until you reach the bottom of the page.

At the bottom of each page is a button marked SAVE CHECKED RESOURCES.  Click on that button to save the resources you checked on the first page, before you move on to the second page.

THE NEXT SCREEN WILL ASK YOU TO SIGN IN FOR THE 'SAVE SEARCHES' OPTION:

You can click on the option to the left, to REGISTER NOW, and establish you account.  This is free.  Then you can return to you first page of the search, and click the SAVE CHECKED RESOURCES BUTTON, before moving on the next page of resources.

When you finish checking the resources you want to visit, click on the SAVE CHECKED RESOURCES button at the bottom of your final page, and this new page will appear, and ask you if you want to give your saved resource plan a name, or save it to an existing plan.  For this example, I typed in a file name and date, and clicked SAVE.

The next thing you will do is click on the tab marked MY SAVED SEARCHES.  You will see a screen that looks something like this:

To view your plan, click on the VIEW icon next to the file name you gave your plan.   A new screen will open up showing you all the resources you checked during your search:

Now you have the option of either printing out your list, or emailing it to yourself.  Click on your choice in the box to the left:

You are done!  You can return any time and explore more of the thousands and thousands of listings that Washington 2-1-1 has.
